More Than Recovery
Education and prevention are at the heart of our broader mission to help individuals, families, and communities thrive. From campuses to living rooms, we create real-world tools that build resilience, reduce stigma, and foster connection.
Helping Students Thrive
Release U is a flexible education and prevention platform built to support young people as they navigate the challenges of student life. We partner with academic institutions, fraternities, and student organizations to help students stay on track, access resources, and reach their full potential.
From coaching and curriculum to on-campus activations and data dashboards, our programs are designed to increase engagement, reduce stigma, and support a culture of care. Whether students are facing stress, identity-based pressure, or issues with substance use or mental health, we help them feel seen, supported, and ready to succeed.
Release U builds on the proven success of MANUAL, our behavior change-driven model that has reached over 70,000 students across the country.

A Platform for Young Men
MANUAL is the male-focused component of Release U. Built by public health and higher education professionals, it helps young men engage with their mental health, relationships, and identity with confidence and clarity.
We work with fraternities, prep schools, and student groups across the country to meet young men where they are and connect them to tools they’ll actually use. Through anonymous coaching, identity-aware content, and on-campus programming, MANUAL offers culturally fluent support for young men who often fall through the cracks.
Outcomes from our research-backed model include lower anxiety levels, increased graduation rates, and stronger student satisfaction.
Education and prevention at Release also includes other programs and initiatives, including:
Family Education & Support
Guidance for the Journey
Recovery affects more than the individual. Our family programming helps loved ones feel informed, involved, and supported throughout the process.
We provide education, communication strategies, and expert guidance to help families process their own experience while also showing up for the person in treatment. Families are encouraged to take part in programming that builds empathy, sets boundaries, and fosters lasting recovery for everyone involved.
Weekly Family Support Group
Release's weekly Family Support Group is led by our in-house Social Worker and Case Managers. These meetings serve as a safe space for Release Families to receive support & engage in our community. All family members are welcome to attend.
Bi-weekly Sibling Support Group
Being a sibling of someone in early recovery is oftentimes a challenging role. Our bi-weekly Sibling Support Group aims to provide a safe space for siblings to process their unique experiences and receive support.
The Zac Clark Show
Real Stories. Honest Conversations.
Hosted by Release Recovery founder Zac Clark, The Zac Clark Show brings together athletes, artists, and changemakers to explore recovery, identity, culture, and purpose. Each episode is an invitation into candid, unfiltered conversations that break stigma and spark connection.
The podcast is a storytelling platform that opens the door to understanding, whether you're in recovery, supporting someone who is, or simply curious about the human experience.
